Focus on Niche Marketing
Everyday I see advertisers ignoring the value of niche marketing. Niche marketing is matching your advertisment and website/product with a related publisher’s website. This will return targetted traffic to your campaign, and the traffic should be more interested in what you are selling, and therefore more likely to convert to a purchase. Yet, so many advertisers simply buy the largest websites, the most clicks, and completely ignore directly related websites to their niche. Why? The most common cause of this is price. General websites with common niches are cheaper. Publishers who have volume traffic from niches such as teen or amateur, can lower their prices to increase their sales and income. This attracts advertisers, even if their product is completely unrelated — like trying to promote Gay or Granny porn on a teen website. Sure, you will receive clicks on your ad, but they will be the least-likely customers to buy your product, and your click through ratio will suffer. The campaign will not yield good results. Its a fact that niche traffic is often more expensive, which can sometimes deter advertisers from buying. You must always remember to market to the most likely people to buy.
