Title: Junior/Mid Linux Systems Administrator
Location: Northeastern, OH (Remote)
Hours: Full Time
Junior / Mid Level – 3-5 years of Linux specific experience preferred.The Linux Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Ubuntu 16.04 (and above) and CentOS 6 & 7 Linux systems in multiple data centers, and assisting the Systems Architect with coordinating with systems vendors and suppliers.
The Linux Systems Administrator is also responsible for performing application deployments and upgrades. The Administrator ensures maximum service availability by taking appropriate steps in the failure prevention, monitoring and disaster recovery processes. The Administrator will also provide second tier support to the Support / HelpDesk team, and is a part of the 24/7 on-call rotation.
MANDATORY SKILLS

3-5 years Ubuntu and CentOS administration
-
1-3 years supporting web and API services with Apache or Nginx

Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SMTP, firewall and routing technologies

Experience in server & data center hardware technologies

Experience troubleshooting systems remotely

Effective oral & written communication and documentation skills
HIGHLY DESIRIBLE SKILLS

Experience working with Cloud based services and technologies (emphasis on AWS EC2 & RDS)

Experience with systems & deployment automation technologies

Ability to write moderately advanced systems automation scripts (Shell, PHP, Python)

Understanding of the Change Control / Change Management process

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
